Using Reaktor's Recorder
Using Reaktor’s Recorder
Reaktor has an amazing built-in tape recorder that allows you to instantly create recordings of your loops and one-shots and drag & drop them from Reaktor directly to other hosts such as Ableton or Maschine. You can even drag & drop audio from Reaktor while it is running in plug-in mode!
We highly recommend that you check this out, as it is a great way to make kits.
To record sounds as audio and drag and drop them into your host:
Open up Reaktor instrument and find a sound you like.
From within Reaktor go to View > Show Player and Recorder.
Click where it says ‘Untitled Audiofile’ and name it something relevant.
If the instrument of your choice needs MIDI clock to run, click the Recorder Settings icon and choose ‘Record Start by: Clock Start’ and ‘Record Stop by: Loop Length’ and set the Loop Length (Bars). If the instrument of your choice is triggered by MIDI notes, choose "Record Start by: Note On".
You can also chose ‘Record Stop by: Note Off’ which will automatically stop recording when you release your note, though if you have a sound with a long release time this may not be the best method.
Click OK.
Hit the record button on the Recorder.
Hit Play in Reaktor (or your host) or trigger MIDI notes.
Drag the Audio file to your host by using the drag icon if your recording automatically stopped after certain Loop Length or click the Stop button on the Recorder to end your recording.
Rinse and repeat.
