What’s inside the package?

Inside the product download you’ll find three folders.

  • Samples - Contains .WAV files and the optional Reaktor.map file

  • Presets - Contains the ULTRALOOP snapshot bank (presets). Be sure to use this with the Reaktor.map file included in the samples folder.

  • Documentation - Contains all related documentation for the product.

Using the included Reaktor map and ULTRALOOP Presets

This LOOP EXPANSION comes with a Reaktor map file that is setup to work in conjunction with the included ULTRALOOP Presets, though you can use the Reaktor map with any Reaktor instrument and you can use the ULTRALOOP Presets with other loop maps (though the results may be unexpected, it’s usually fun and surprising how good they sound).

Using ULTRALOOP Presets

As an ULTRALOOP user you can use the included presets with the loops they were designed for, but the presets alone can also be a great starting point to inject new life into your own loop content. You can use the Presets and Loops at any BPM inside ULTRALOOP. You made need to adjust the BPM range setting using ULTRALOOP’S BPM tab.

Loading the Reaktor map file into ULTRALOOP

Inside the LOOP EXPANSION Samples folder, you’ll find a Reaktor.map file called [name_of_expansion].map. To keep the file size low, the Reaktor.map file we included references the WAV files and does not contain them. Please keep this .map file in the root of Samples folder where you found it or use the Embed option in the Reaktor sample map editor to embed the samples into each instrument you’re working with to ensure that they are a part of that instrument.

To import the sample maps associated with the Presets

  1. Turn on EDIT mode in Reaktor.

  2. Simply drag the .map file found in the SAMPLES folder of this product to the sample map or Choose Sample Map > Import (Replace)... from the Sample Map Editor.

To open the map editor, choose View>Shop Sample Map Editor [F9]

If you’d like to ensure that the samples are stored with the Reaktor ensemble itself, so that you can move the ensemble around freely without worrying about the path of the samples, simply click the Embed checkboxes for the samples in the sample map editor. This forces the samples to be a part of the ULTRALOOP ensemble itself.

Using the ULTRALOOP Presets at a different BPM ------- needs full version (edit mode !!!)

Be sure to turn on EDIT mode by clicking the structure icon next to the main snapshot menubar

When in Reaktor standalone mode, the BPM that was stored with the preset is automatically recalled. This ensures that the Presets playback at the right tempo they were created at.

If you’d like to browse through a set of Presets using a different BPM, simply turn off SET BPM BY SNAPSHOT in the Reaktor Settings or run Reaktor inside your host.

If things are playing at the wrong pitch, it’s like because your DAW is set to a different BPM than that of the sample content. ULTRALOOP snapshots default to using ‘Pitch Stretching’, which changes the pitch of the samples to slow down or speed up to match the tempo. You can turn this feature off by using the PITCH mini-cell. When off, ULTRALOOP uses a grid to slice the samples and retime the sliced positions to the current BPM.
