FAQ
Everything you need to know about Twisted Tools Powered by Reaktor plugins
Which version of Reaktor is required?
All our instruments work with Reaktor 6 Player or Reaktor 6. Be sure your version is up-to-date in Native Access and our products are guaranteed to work just fine. For a full list of detailed requirements, have a look at the system requirements page.
What's the difference between Reaktor Player and Reaktor?
Reaktor Player is a new format from Native Instruments that allows for 3rd party developers such as Twisted Tools to sell instruments to customers who don't wish to purchase the full version of Reaktor and simply want to use our products in any VST/AU/AAX compatible host. Simply put, anyone with a modern computer can run our software as a plugin by using the free Reaktor Player or the full version of Reaktor.
Do your plugins work the same when using them in either the Reaktor Player or the full version of Reaktor?
Whether you choose to run our plugins in the Reaktor Player or the full version of Reaktor, they work exactly the same. The only thing you can't do is access their structure view and modify them unless you have the full version of Reaktor.
Can I save my own presets in the Reaktor Player?
Yes! You can save presets with both Reaktor Player and Reaktor.
I own the full version of Reaktor, should I still install Reaktor Player?
No. Existing owners of Reaktor need only update to the latest version via Native Access.
Can I load my own samples into sample based instruments if I'm running Reaktor Player
Yes! You can load samples into sample based instruments using either version of Reaktor.
Are your structures unlocked?
Yes. For the time-being we've chosen to release all our instruments in an unlocked format, which means that owners of the full version of Reaktor can dig around inside our instruments, hack at them and see how they were built. Please be aware, that we can't support modifications to the structure and that you do so at your own risk. You may do so for personal purposes, but please respect our intellectual property and license, which prohibits you from copying our code and re-publishing it in any form (commercial or free).
Do your Reaktor plugins use snapshots or presets?
We are transitioning to using Reaktor presets for a number of technical reasons that are beneficial to customers.
There are some kinks with presets that aren't yet perfect, but we are sure that Presets are indeed the way forward for Reaktor and will be improved with time. Presets offer the following major improvements over snapshots:
Presets can be easily installed automatically (see Expansions)
using our Toolbox.
Presets can be easily managed by navigating using the Reaktor sidepane.
Presets can be stored using Reaktor Player and don't require the user to save another copy of their instrument in order to use a different bank of presets.
Presets can be easily saved and shared by users.
Presets have a smaller footprint (require less disk space).
Future instruments (in development) that make use of the Reaktor Table Framework will be able to load referenced samples with presets.
Do you do custom modifications, development or freelance work?
Unfortunately, we can't offer our services to modify your instrument and aren't available to take on side projects. If you have a feature request, please send us a message and let us know as we'd love to hear from you and hopefully it's something we can add in the future.
