USING REAKTOR MAPS (OLD INSTRUCTIONS REFERENCE) MICRO KITS
First, to open any Reaktor ensemble that uses a sampler module:
1. Double-click a Reaktor sampler ensemble on your hard drive or choose View>Show Browser from within Reaktor and navigate to an ensemble that is a sampler.
Note: You must open an Ensemble that is a sampler before you can load a map. Some Reaktor Ensembles use a ‘Sample Lookup’ module, which doesn’t support loading Reaktor maps.
2. Choose View>Show Map Editor.
Next, to load the map into Reaktor:
1. Go to the folder containing the samples you want to load and drag a ‘.map’ file to the Sample Map Editor area in Reaktor.

Note: The Reaktor .map files should not be moved from their original location or you will get a error dialog.
2. Set the ensemble’s sample select knob (or similar control) to playback the sample of your choice.
Note: Most Twisted Tools Reaktor .maps start at sample #0

About the MK05 S-Layer Kits and Map
MK05 features a custom Reaktor map and snapshot bank for Twisted Tools S-Layer (sold separately). By harnessing the power of S-Layer’s advanced randomization and sample layering engine, the possibilities for generating new content from the MK05 samples are endless. MK05 comes with 40+ kit and generator presets to get you started.
Installation
In order to set things up, you’ll need to load the sample map into S-Layer along with the custom MK05 snapshot bank.
In Reaktor 5.8, you’ll need to turn on Edit mode in order to edit ensembles like SLAYER. Click the structure icon next to the main snapshot menu to turn on Edit mode before attempting to load custom samples.
Open the S-Layer Sample Map Editor:
1. Open S-Layer.ens
2. In Edit mode, right-click the wave folder icon located in the lower-left of the Wave Display.
3. Click Open Map Editor to open the Reaktor sample map editor.
The Sample Map Editor area will open which shows a list of all the default samples.
Backup and save your original S-Layer sample map:
1. Choose Edit > Save from the Sample Map Editor.
2. Save and name the document S-Layer.map when prompted.
3. Click ‘Yes’ when asked to include the Audio Data in the Sample-Map.
4. Keep it in safe place and reimport it when needed.
A file appears on your desktop called S-LAYER.map which contains all the samples. You can use a .map Reaktor file in nearly any Reaktor sampler capable of loading multiple sounds.
Locate and load the MK05_S-Layer.map
1. Find MK05_S-Layer.map here:

2. Drag and drop your MK05_S-Layer.map map onto the editor or Wave Folder icon in the Wave Display.
Import the MK05 Snapshot Bank into S-Layer.ens
1. Click the S-Layer logo to be sure S-Layer you’re working with S-Layer and not the snapshots for the Nanoverb or Delay.
2. Choose View > Show Snapshots from Reaktor’s Main Menu.
3. Choose Edit > New Bank from the Snapshot Bank Edit Menu in the Sidepane.
4. Choose Edit > Load Bank from the Snapshot Bank Edit Menu in the Sidepane.
5. Select MK05_S-Layer.ssf
6. MK05_Delect/01_Kits/MK05_Reaktor/S-Layer Kits and Map/MK05_S-Layer.ssf
7. Save S-Layer.ens
S-LAYER reference
If you are using Reaktor 5.7, be sure to turn on EDIT mode by clicking the structure icon near the main menu bar before proceeding.
Opening the Sample Map Editor:
Right-click the wave folder icon located in the lower-left of the Wave Display.Click Open Map Editor to open the Reaktor sample map editor.

The Sample Map Editor area will open which shows a list of all the samples. You can replace single sounds one at a time, add multiple sounds or replace the entire default sample map.
To replace a single sound:
Select the sound you’d like to replace.
Choose Edit > Replace from the Sample Map Editor.
When prompted, locate the sound you’d like to replace it with and click Open. You can also drag from the file browser directly to the ‘Reaktor Sample Map Editor’. A red line will appear allowing you to insert the sample into the map at a specified position.
To replace multiple sounds at once:
Click the‘L’header in the Sample Map Editor so that the samples are displayed chromatically starting at sample 0.
Shift-select a group sounds you’d like to replace.
ChooseEdit > Deletefrom the Sample Map Editor.
Drag the replacement sounds to the Sample Map Editor until you see a red insertion line appear at the desired position.
To replace the entire sample map:
Shift-select all the samples in the map.
ChooseEdit > Deletefrom the Sample Map Editor.
Drag up to 128 samples to the sample map area.
IMPORTANT - Sometimes samples have loop points written into the actual file and looping turned on. This will cause problems with most Twisted Tools Reaktor samplers. Make sure Loop is off.
To save entire sample maps:
You may want to save your custom Reaktor map files to use later or to load in other Reaktor instruments.
ChooseEdit > Savefrom the Sample Map Editor.
Save and name the document when prompted.
Click ‘Yes’ when asked to include the Audio Data in the Sample-Map.
A file appears on your desktop called YOUR_NAME.MAP which contains all the samples. You can use a .map Reaktor file in nearly any Reaktor sampler capable of loading multiple sounds.
To load your sample map into Reaktor:
Choose Edit > Load from the Sample Map Editor or drag and drop your map onto the editor or Folder icon in the Wave Display.
